Author: Reader's Digest Children's Books
Average review score:

Clever transforming book
This is a clever transforming book, actually more like a giant card that flips into different scenes, much like those transforming puzzle cubes. My seven-year-old son loves these!

There doesn't seem to be an electric pokémon version of these though. But I'm sure one is coming!

Excellent reference book covering aspects of water gardening
This book is an excellent reference for the beginner or expert rock and water garden enthusiast. This book shows how one can build a pond, stock it with plants and fish and contains a good compilation of rock plants with which to surround the pool. There is also a section covering lighting of the pond and water garden problems. Highly recommend it.

A joy to browse through
This book provides a quick reference guide to more than 450 rock garden plants by type, size, season of interest, and color. The opening chapter is a helpful introduction, giving advice on choosing suitable plants for a particular site or purpose, such as for a border, container, or simply as a specimen. Following chapters are subdivided into sections according to the average size of the plants and their main season of interest. Family name, common name(s), and botanical name are provided. Who's better?
A very good book. From the very early days until the Blues To The Bush Tour 2000 it is a really good and detailed reading. A long and winding road for the Who, although an entertaining one! Brilliant book. This is a book you take on long train journeys. It's the only book you'll need.

Faith No More: The Real Story
Published in Paperback by Penguin USA (March, 1994)
Author: Steffan Chirazi
Average review score:

The best (though probably only) FNM biography you can find
I happened upon this book in a local tower records, and I was surprised one actually existed for my favorite band. This was long after its release (maybe 1997) so it was on sale for like $7. It's got a great source of info about the band's history from the very beginning. Lots of nice pictures too, though one of them is a big picture of Patton with a shirt that's a little disturbing. But hey, he had a point he was trying to make. . .anyway, if you can find this book, get it if you're a big fnm fan. The only problem I have with it is that while it's a great resource, it only goes up to about 1992-3, the last thing is when Jim Martin was fired. Since they've now broken up, I don't think we'll seea new edition sadly enough. . .

A good book for amateur geologists...
This book is a good introduction to the overall principals of geology as well as to the specific geology of the eastern US. There's lots of diagrams, maps, photos and an easy to read text. Sections include background information about geology, the major geological features of an area and what you would see along the major highways of that area.

Finding God Between a Rock & A Hard Place: Stories of Gratitude and Grace
Published in Paperback by Harold Shaw Pub (March, 2000)
Authors: Lil Copan and Elisa Fryling
Average review score:

Encouraging and Amazing
Copan and Fryling have created a collection of both known and unknown Christians' vignettes resounding ways God has heard someone's prayer and responded. For readers who feel God is distant or not listening, and are looking to be encouraged in their faith, get "Finding God..."

While our society lives in a 'show me' mindset, they don't always realize God is showing Himself. Readers appreciating books from TD Jakes to CS Lewis to Jack Deere to John MacArthur... as varied as they are, will all find "Finding God Between a Rock & A Hard Place: Stories of Gratitude and Grace" a hardcore look at answered prayer.

These stories are real. They are a result of knee-bent prayer, and the grace of God.

It looks great (typeset beautifully), reads well, engages the mind, heart and soul... after you read it, pass it on. It would make a warm, gentle gift to a friend needing a boost.

I fully recommend "Finding God Between a Rock & A Hard Place." I hope there is a sequel, or some other variation. Good testimonies of God's grace are abound, but are too rarely bound in as well-said as found in these pages. God's glory needs to be declared, and here, He shines...
